Background Story
Regina was on holiday in Brazil when she was injured while swimming in the ocean. You can get the full story here. After 30 hours of waiting and tests, she had emergency spinal surgery in Rio early on January 1, 2012. She and her friend Madeline are being incredibly brave. She is out of surgery. We are unsure what recovery will look like. There was some damage to her nerves and functionality, but we have no reason not to be hopeful. You can get updates here.
